Planning is underway for the 30th Annual Tribute to Women & Industry Program. TWIN honors women throughout Richland County for their professional and volunteer accomplishments. The event will be held May 15 at the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center.
Area companies and agencies have received nomination packets and TWIN applications also are available on www.medcentral.org. They are due by March 14.
MedCentral Health System, the largest employer of women in this region, is the corporate sponsor of TWIN which raises funds to help women seeking post-secondary training and education to enhance their job skills. Grants were awarded in 2013 to Madison Adult Education, Pioneer Adult Education, the North Central State College Foundation and the Mansfield City Schools Adult and Community Education.
In addition to honoring women for their leadership roles in the workplace, the program also presents a Corporate Achievement Award, along with the JoAnn Dutton Award for outstanding volunteerism. The top award is the Athena Award, sponsored by Richland Bank, for distinguished service in the community.
Founded in 1985, TWIN has enabled local employers to honor more than 600 women. The nominations show not only the commitment of the TWIN honoree to her employer, but the commitment of the employer to providing an environment where women can reach their full potential.
