We offer cancer patients extensive outpatient services through our on-site chemotherapy clinics and infusion centers at Mansfield and Shelby hospitals. All CancerCare staff nurses are certified in chemotherapy administration through the Oncology Nursing Society, and many have also received national oncology certification in the treatment of cancer patients. Many MedCentral CancerCare patients are enrolled in national research protocols that provide the latest in treatment options available throughout the country. Our patients are also part of an ongoing Fatigue and Symptom Management Clinic, where they receive continued contact and documentation of treatment side effects. The goal is to provide proactive interventions and prevent the need for subsequent hospitalizations. Our ambulatory centers provide some patients the chance to complete their entire cancer treatment without hospitalization.
