MedCentral’s radiation oncologists oversee the treatment planning, radiation therapy and coordination of care for patients whose cancer is best treated by this form of therapy. Our new Radiation Therapy Center, which opened in June of 2007, is home to $7 million worth of state-of-the-art treatment planning and therapy equipment. Unique to this region and rivaling any facility in the state, the center provides patients with the highest possible dose of radiation precisely on a tumor, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue or organs.

New imaging equipment allows us to provide extremely sophisticated planning that will enhance the effectiveness of treatment. The combination of expert planning and treatment will increase the chances of a cure or a more vital quality of life as patients battle their disease.

Because radiation oncology patients may receive dozens of treatments, patient comfort was a priority during the building's design. The center offers a more positive treatment experience, with more space for patient changing rooms, waiting areas, counseling and staff.

The single-purpose center has plenty of parking for patients and is easily accessible from both Lind and Carpenter roads.
