Ways to support MedCentral Hospice

We need your support to continue the exceptional care and services we provide to our HomeCare and Hospice patients. Here are a few ways you can get involved:

Name MedCentral Hospice as a recipient of contributions when a loved one dies. We are a non-profit agency that uses gifts from businesses and individuals to enhance services. Your gift will help others receive the services your friend or family member received.

Volunteer. Those who volunteer for MedCentral Hospice help patients in a variety of ways: by offering transportation, writing letters, and through limited patient care. Volunteers also provide relief for caregivers. Most importantly, a volunteer can be simply a friendly visitor who provides a smile and a listening ear. Typically, volunteers donate two to four hours per week to a hospice family. While you are not asked to administer medication or provide skilled medical care, you do sometimes provide limited patient care such as adjusting a patient's bed. For more information on becoming a volunteer for MedCentral Hospice, call Volunteer/Bereavement Coordinator Brenda Ewers at 419-520-2975; or e-mail bewers@medcentral.org.

Have us speak to your organization. Contact MedCentral Hospice and invite a staff member to speak at your club or organization. Call 419-526-8442.

Write to your doctor. If you have first-hand experience with services from MedCentral Hospice, tell your doctor. Your comments are appreciated, whether encouraging or to let us know how we can serve our patients better.

Organize a fund-raiser. MedCentral Hospice holds various events throughout the year to raise money for community education projects and un-reimbursed patient care expenses. To host an event on our behalf, call Hospice Director Marte Alsleben at 419-526-8914.

Remember us in your will. By naming MedCentral Hospice as a beneficiary, you will ensure your wishes will be carried on for the benefit of future generations.
